Data Permit compares an intended AI use with your recorded grant conditions: region, expiry, revocation and consent status. It calculates a proposed split of received revenue and keeps incompatible shares unallocated. Matching fields does not establish a legal license.

## Method

Check use, region, expiry, revocation and declared consent. Allocate only compatible shares of received revenue; preserve the unallocated remainder.

## Workflow

1. Record the actual grant document and source for each dataset.
2. Specify the intended use and region, with documented consent status.
3. Resolve exceptions with the rights holder; treat the split as a review proposal.

## Common mistake

Permission to evaluate a dataset is not automatically permission to train on it. Record the specific intended use and read the original grant.

## Questions

### What happens to revenue assigned to an expired data grant?

In this worksheet it remains unallocated. The tool does not silently redistribute it to other contributors or make a payment. Resolve the actual rights and contract terms before deciding what should happen.

### Is Data Permit free, and do I need a wallet?

All current functions are free beta. No account, wallet connection, subscription or model API key is needed. No legal opinion, rights verification, consent collection, access enforcement, token issuance or payment.

### Can I use my own records and keep them private?
